Theatre School from leading Moscow universities: the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS), The Moscow Art Theatre School

Anatolij Mironowitsch Smeljanski
Anatolij Smeljanski is one of the most important peronalities of russian
theater sciences and pedagogy. He is the principal of the school MHAT in Moscow
and is one of the most important, leading, most popular and most competent
detractors of the russian theatre scene.
Smeljanski is historian of russian theater, doctor of sciences of art,
author of more than 400 articels in journals on key events of the theater.
Smeljanski was honored often times for his work, his engagement and his
earnings for the art of the Russian Federation.
He is prize winner of the governmental award of the International Fond
K.S. Stanislawski, of the national TV prize TEFI, the decoration „Merits for
the Fatherland" grade IV and III, which he achieved in 1999 and 2008.In 2009 he
achieved the decoration with"triumph".
His extensive educational work is not only respected in his own country,
but he is also a permanent guest in several abroad universities and schools.
He teaches in famous universities, like Harvard in the USA, Oxford in UK,
Sorbonne, France and conducts seminars, held annualy in the summerschool of
Stanislawski.
Additional he leads a program with aspirants of the „Repertoire –
theater" of the Harvard – university, modeled after the studios of the Moscow
Art Theatre.
He is part of the writer´s union of the Russian Federation as an active
memeber, and since the year 2000 a full member of the independent academy of
aesthetics and free arts Moscow.
Since almost 10 years, he is chairman of the publishing house" Art
Theatre Moscow".
His voluminous work in literature about russian theater, to mention just
a few, is the work as a chief editor of a 9-volume work of the creation of
Stanislawski, whom first work were released in 2003.
His books are indicated contently and scientifically as valuable.
He is chronicler of the Theatre Era of Russia.
Anatolij Smeljanski reconciles theater and TV, because he is author of
TV- series, which deal with theatre of the 20th century.
Actor´s skill and basics of direction Valeriy Persikov
This
director and lecturer is an „accepted personality of the arts of the Russian
federation". In 1980 he finished his study under professor S. A. Benkendorf in
the „Russian academy of theatrical art" (early GITIS).
From
1980 to 1996 he worked as a
director in the „academic theatre" in Tver (Russia). From 1997 he worked in a
very short but intense period close together with the Mitschurinski theatre
where he produced more than 15 stage plays www.michtheatre.ru/html/arhiv.htm).
During
this time he was an artistic leader of the experimental course for musical - dramatic
theatre in the chair of the GITIS.
In
1999 he became the responsible director in the Moscow Zarizino theatre. Many of
his performances were awarded at national and international festivals.
In
1989 he received his first offer in Germany to direct and teach Russian theory
in the subjects
"acting”
and ”Fundamentals of directing”. He received annual invitations to Celle,
Osnabrück, Stendal and Dresden.

Stage movement
Andrei Droznin
Andrei Droznin, one of the most brilliant Russian directors, will help
the participants to explore their bodies and expand their range of movement. He
is known for his work at theaters in almost all parts of the world, leading seminars and lecturing all over the globe.
Technique of stage movement is one his central
training programs. He was one of the founding members of the Tabakov’s Studio
in Moscow, the Stanislavski Summer
Schools in Cambridge and Massachusetts
and he is a cocreator of the International Centre "Stage Movement". Mr. Droznin is
the only Russian member of the Grotowski Council of Breslau, Poland. He is the
Master Teacher of Movement at the
Vakhtangov Theater.
